Question for my regular readers

When I was asked to adapt Servicing the Pole into “chick lit” last year, I didn’t reject the idea out of hand. I actually tried it first, before determining that I am far too cynical a person to sustain writing a whole manuscript in this style. And though I ultimately decided not to finish the project, I still find some of the scenes amusing. It was fun to do a different kind of writing.

I wrote an outline and got about 30,000 words into a ms, which I titled Nudity For Fun and Profit.

Since we’re coming to the end of the Servicing the Pole serial, and since I based Nudity in Angels, using a few of the same characters… I wonder if you lovely folks would like to see the unfinished ms.

Leave a comment here saying yea or nay, and if I have sufficient interest from you guys, then I’ll serialize those chapters until they run out.

I’m also thinking of opening up the floor for other novelists to guest blog. If I did that, then one of the things I might do would be to take submissions for future chapters from guest bloggers. I’m not married to any of these ideas, just considering them.

So what does everyone think? Please speak your minds and let me know what you would like to see on this site. I am always open to suggestions.

i’d be curious to see the adaptation.

what i have been thinking as i have been reading, this could work as a movie. now admittedly i don’t know if there is a classic “climax” in this case either a decision to leave the club, or something more tragic.

there have been numerous attempts in the movies to depict the “stripper” and associated and assumed lifestyle. this could be the breakthrough rethinking of that genre. as a movie free of the hollywood stereotyping it could explore the costs of easy money. the custie, the dancer, even the dancers’ entourage of similarly broken people they seem to collect. why are these folks in it, why can’t they leave if they choose too,why they choose not to leave,

in short, like the luigi pirandello quote, “life is little more than a loan shark, it exacts a high rate of exchange for the few pleasures it concedes.”

I don’t really know what “chick lit” is but it’s not a term I find very attractive. That said, Servicing the Pole is not something I would usually read but I look forward to every new installment. It’s an interesting story enhanced by the quality of your writing. In short, you’re a writer that has got my attention so I would give anything you published a chance.

For me, STP is great as it is so the idea of a decaff version doesn’t really blow my skirt up. However, it would be great if you sold it to Hollywood and made loads of dosh!

I’m curious about the different style. I would like to read it.

Hahaha… yes, would love to read your chick lit attempt. I might actually enjoy it even, since I would be imagining you scowling hard as you wrote each sentence.

    Jo xx
